I think I could turn and live with animals; they are so placid and self-contained, I stand and look at them long and long. They do not sweat and whine about their condition, They do not lie awake in the dark and weep for their sins, They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God, Not one is dissatisfied, not one is demented with the mania of owning things, Not one kneels to another, nor to his kind that lived thousands of years ago, Not one is respectable or unhappy over the whole earth.

FOX Vulpes vulpes

Never has so much been said and done about the fox; hunted with dogs, shot, trapped and debated in the House of Commons. But one thing is for sure, Mr Fox is a true survivor. A lot of people are fond of foxes, and it has been known that some spend as much as £25.00 per week feeding them! Contrary to popular belief, they do not always live off  the contents of your dustbins!!!

One thing that they do eat is rats, and the food we drop on the streets. Surely in this day and age, with fast food outlets becoming the norm, the foxes can help us with the Clean up Britain Campaign!

I love the fox, and I hope that one day we can live in peace with this truly magnificent mammal.
